Does your children live in Japan now?
I sometimes go to English class but not "Asahikawa Eikaiwa".(^^
So I like to communicate people who are from another countries in English.
You had lived in Asahikawa so long time! Can you speak Japanese? ^^
Yes yes. In Asahikawa, there are a lot of happenings recently.
But I think that Snow Brand and Takushoku ginko had not good employers.
So they had gone out of business.^^
Some day, come to Asahikawa and let's drink Otokoyama-sake with me in San-Roku!
See you again!

Tomo,
Thanks for responding to my posting. As I said I lived in te Asahikawa area, Nagayama, and Pippu from 1979 to 1996. I live in the Seattle area now. My three children were all born in Japan, one in Tokyo, and the others in Asahikawa.
I get a lot of news from the Japan times, and Mainichi Daily News web pages. So many things have happened since I left. So many big companies have gone out of business. Snow Brand, Takushoku ginko, and so many more.
I miss San-Roku, and I miss the snow.
Talk to you later.
David

I lived in the Asahikawa area from 1979 to 1996. If anyone remembers me I’d like to hear from you. I started Asahikawa Eikaiwa, and taught there until I sold it and returned to the States. I miss the snow!

I'm from New York. I spent a month as an exchange student in Asahikawa. I had such a great time there and the surrounding area is so beautiful. I think Japan is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I hope to go back someday and visit some of the places that I went to during my trip.

I found this HP and board. I was born and rised in Asahikawa, but now I am in Michigan as a physicia in Veterans Administration Hospital. Recently, I heard Japanese Army unit will be dispatched to Iraq and the first one is from my hometown Asahikawa. Retrospectively, our town was a millitary town. The 7th Army unit was the toughest one in Japan before WW2. My father was even a veteran of WW2 (but not eligible for VA care in US (laugh)). It is interesting destiny that my home town army goes to the world.
